WORLD EARTH DAY

The inaugural Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970, when Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson and San Francisco activist John McConnell independently urged people to participate in a grassroots protest. An amazing 20 million Americans—10% of the population—went outside and protested in response to the extremely serious concerns of poisoned drinking water, air pollution, and pesticide damage.

WORLD EARTH DAY
The 53rd Earth Day is on April 22 on Saturday. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of problems that hurt the environment and threaten the survival of the world, such as the alarming rise in pollution, global warming, and deforestation. International organizations join together to spread the word about how urgently our environment has to be protected.

Unofficially extending the celebration of Earth Day, Earth Week aims to draw additional attention to the cause. Every year, from April 16 to 22, people celebrate Earth Week. People are being made aware of Earth Day, climate change, and the necessity of taking action to stop it throughout this week. An excellent time to start actions and have talked about environmental protection is during Earth Week.

In addition to raising public awareness of environmental issues, Earth Day is now a well-liked occasion for many communities to get together to pick up trash, plant trees, or simply appreciate the beauty of nature. Theme- The World Earth Day theme builds on the "Invest in Our Planet" theme from 2022. This subject emphasizes the importance of worldwide efforts being made to safeguard our planet. The five main programs for the 2023 Earth Day theme are as follows:
