India Holi is a celebration celebrated with a riot of color and a shower of pleasure and happiness. It also happens to be Lord Krishna's favorite holiday. It represents the beginning of the Indian Spring season. So where better to see this wonderful celebration than in Shri Krishna's homeland? One location in India where Holi is celebrated with tremendous fervor, joy, and pleasure is Mathura.
It is undoubtedly the best location to be in at this time of year! Everyone wants to take part in this fantastic fiesta with the air filled with colors and naughtiness, the lingering scent of sweets, and the smiling, colorful faces greeting one another. It is a month-long celebration that starts in February and ends with the spectacular Mathura Holi festivities in March.
Holi in Vrindavan, often known as "Vrindavan Holi" or "Mathura Holi," is an unforgettable event. Holi must be experienced in Brajbhoomi, as it is known. In Vrindavan, Holi is a happy occasion. Unlike other areas in the nation, it is not a one-day rite. It lasts for a whole week and has its own intriguing themes and tales.
DAY1-
The first day of Braj Bhoomi celebrations, which take place in Barsana. Around a week before the primary "Holi Day," it begins. In keeping with custom, ladies dress as Gopis (Lord Krishna's consorts) and beat males who attend the celebrations dressed as Gopas (Lord Krishna's buddies) with sticks.
According to mythology, Lord Krishna went to Barsana with some of his Nandgaon pals and mocked the Gopis there. As Gopis were irate, they banded together to try to teach Krishna and his pals a lesson. They thrashed them with sticks as they chased them out of their village. The name Lath Mar, which means to kick or beat with a stick, was therefore chosen.
Men of Nandgaon, the hometown of Lord Krishna, travel to Barsana today to taunt ladies before being driven out and beaten with clubs. Of course, each man has a shield to defend himself, and the environment is one of enormous fervor.
After visiting the Radha Rani shrine, the guys congregate outside. The ladies pounded them on their shields with sticks. The "thandai" mixed with bhang gives celebrations additional vigor! Elders from both villages participate in the "Samaj" rite inside the temple by singing songs to Lord Krishna. That is stunning to look at. Red is prevalent everywhere! on the ground, in the air, and on people!
DAY2-
The opposite of Barsana is this. Should the Gopis of Nandgaon remain silent if Gopis had given Gopas of Nandgaon a lesson? On this specific day, the men from Barsana travel to Nandgaon, taunt the local ladies, and receive beatings from the local women!
DAY3-
