The most popular team in the league has to be CSK as they have been the heart of the league right from the inaugural edition. They are always the talking point with their performance, Strategies, and sometimes even controversies.

Strategy
CSK finished 7th on the points table last season but the franchise is looking to build a strong core. They have missed their key players last season like Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, and Imran Tahir who were part of the franchise for quite a long and now Dwayne Bravo will also not be part of IPL any further. The Fast Bowling department lacks an X-factor as Deepak Chahar is not good with yorkers and Dwaine Pretorius isn't experienced in terms of high-pressure and crunch situations of the match, Mukesh Chaudhary has done well so far for the team. The Spin department is quite good with a combination of experience and young talent.

MS Dhoni (Captain)
He has been magnificent as a captain and finisher for the franchise. He has taken the franchise to the top and never really needed a replacement for himself but now is the time he himself will have to take the responsibility to find his alternate, probably in Ben Stokes, Devon Conway, or even youngsters like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dubey for the long run. It will be his last outing as a player in the Indian Premier League and would like to keep the franchise's needs above anything else. As a batter, he has scored 4945 runs with an average of 39.88 and a strike rate of 135.70.
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja has been the true Rockstar for the Franchise over the years with Bat and Ball both. One of the few players who perform well under pressure. He will lead the spin attack for CSK, with his economical bowling, the team often gets benefited in Middle overs restricting the opponents from scoring high totals. Batting at no. 6 for CSK he provides flexibility for finishers to shuffle batting positions and take some time to settle in. He has decent stats in Batting having scored 2498 runs with an average of 26.86 and a strike rate of 127.84 and with his bowling he has taken 132 wickets with an average of 30.52 and a strike rate of 23.96.
Ben Stokes
The newest inclusion to the Chennai Super Kings and the most suitable candidate for the role of captaincy for CSK ahead. Stokes is equally good in all the departments and we have seen his captaincy skills in recent times for England which is the most required skill CSK needed in him. He can play any role with the bat from opening the innings to finishing the game and even rotating strikes in middle overs against spin and that is the reason for his being valued so much by the teams.
Ambati Rayudu
He has been a key player for the franchise for quite some time, his clean-hitting ability in middle overs provides the team with opportunities to score big and even chase targets easily. He is regarded as one of the best spin players of spin by his teammates. He has scored 4187 runs in IPL with an average of 29.70 and a strike rate of 127.29.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
The youngster has provided consistent performance with the bat for CSK for the last 3 seasons. He bats long and paces his innings well in middle overs. Timing is the most important factor of his batting which makes his batting easy on the eyes. So far in his career, he has scored 1152 runs with an average of 38.40 and a strike rate of 132.26.
Moeen Ali
For the last 3 seasons, he has been given a special responsibility by the team to score runs quickly regardless of match situation and pitch conditions, and he has done that quite successfully. He has the ability to score runs quickly which makes other CSK batters take time and settle. He is also handy with the ball and has an economy rate of 6.92 which is quite useful for the team to stop the flow of runs. In his IPL career, he has scored 796 runs with an average of 22.74 and a decent strike rate of 142.65.
Devon Conway
The NZ batter was added to the team last season and he showed his skill in a very short span of time. He managed to score 252 runs in just 7 innings with an average of 42.00 and with a very healthy strike rate of 145.66.
Deepak Chahar
The opening bowler for CSK has the ability to swing the ball both ways and can provide early breakthroughs to the team. For this season his role will be more crucial than any other season. In the absence of Dwayne Bravo, he will be tested in death overs as well. He has taken 59 wickets with an average of 29.19 and managed an economy of 7.79.

2010 (Title 1)
The 3rd season of the IPL was won by the kings defeating Mumbai Indians by 22 runs. It was Suresh Raina's performance with the bat that created the difference 57*(35).
